There are some parts of this business that still give me butterflies, and preparing to return to Antwerp is one of them.
In just a few days, I’ll be heading back to the heart of the diamond world, walking into rooms filled with thousands of natural diamonds and searching for the handful that are special enough to come home to Ellsworth.
And I don't take that lightly.
A diamond can look perfect on paper. It can have all the right numbers, letters, grades, and certifications. But then you put it next to another diamond with nearly identical credentials…and one simply comes alive.
That's the sparkle I'm looking for.

I’ll look at cut. Proportion. Fire. Brilliance. Beauty. Value. I'll compare stones side by side, turn some away, look at others again—and probably obsess over a few far longer than anyone around me thinks necessary.
Because I know where these diamonds are going.
They're coming home to friends for engagements and anniversaries. To milestone birthdays and "I finally did it" moments. To upgrades you've waited years for. And someday, some of them will be passed down to people who aren't even born yet.
That's what makes Antwerp different for me.
I'm not simply going there to buy diamonds.
I'm going there to find them for you.

And this year, I’m especially excited. I’m seeing a renewed appreciation for beautiful natural diamonds. Their rarity, their story, and the idea of owning something created by the earth that can become part of a family's story for generations.
So my notebook is filling up.
I have names. Budgets. Shapes. Sizes. Stories. And a few very specific missions.
But there’s still room for a few more.
